Blu Marble by Sebastian Errazuriz
Agency Mazarine
“Blu Marble is a reminder of our miraculously fragile existence. It places our very existence in perspective at a global level — as a tiny speck in space — beckoning us to live fully with an awareness and mindfulness of our limited time on this vulnerable and beautiful planet,” Errazuriz explained.
On the night of its inauguration, Blu Marble transformed the skyline of Manhattan through a special neighborhood display in collaboration with the New Museum.

SCUDDER PLAZA -WOODROW WILSON MEMORIAL - PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
architect Studio Joseph
Princeton held a competition for an installation to best wrestle with Woodrow Wilson’s complicated legacy. The main design challenge was to acknowledge both Wilson’s triumphs – his ambitious foreign policy and advances in higher education – and his shortcomings, in his racist proposals for federal employees and support for segregation. Understanding history is not a culmination of a single voice but of many. Bronze plaques embedded in the granite paving symbolically demonstrate the power of incremental over monumental and the equality of all voices.
Using excavation and surgical insertion, we create a new overlay of engagement. Open space is preserved and enhanced for social and collegiate gathering. Both media-driven and physical elements celebrate missing voices.

REDEVELOPED RED HOOK , NYC
RED HOOK — A vision for a massive redevelopment that would add thousands of residential units to the Brooklyn waterfront and a subway connection to lower Manhattan has been put forward by global engineering firm AECOM.
In the report shared with DNAinfo New York on Monday night, AECOM has reimagined Red Hook with as many as 45,000 new residential units and a new No. 9 train that would extend from Manhattan's No. 1 line and connect to Park Slope.
The AECOM rendering envisions mid- and high-rises replacing the Red Hook Container Port, the Red Hook Cruise Ship Terminal, the NYPD tow pound, alongside Red Hook Houses and at the mouth of the Gowanus Canal. Many of the developments would occupy city- or Port Authority-owned land.
OMA New york
The New York office of Dutch firm OMA has proposed an apartment building with a "prismatic" corner for Manhattan. Planned for a corner plot at 121 East 22nd Street in the Grammercy Park neighbourhood, the building commissioned by Toll Brothers City Living will contain 133 residential units. The position between a quiet private park and the bustling area of Madison Square led OMA New York to design a building that aims to reflect both.
